Reasons Why People are Falling In love with KDrama

Have you ever heard of this addictive thing called "KDrama"? They've been around for a long time but now they are taking the lives of people by storm.

     

KDrama is a short term for Korean Dramas. These series are created and produced by South Koreans, and have been eating up the time of people who watches it.

     

It may sound like a bad thing that people are getting addicted to it, but trust me when I say it's the contrary.

So here are some of the reasons why I think people are falling in love with KDramas.

Oppa is a korean word that means "older brother". A girl uses this to call an older brother or an older guy that she trusts. Most of the time the lead female will use this word as an endearment for the lead guy.   But in the Phipippines "oppa" became  a term for a handsome guy, regardless of their age, whenever there is a cute guy they will call him oppa.

Note: only a girl can call a guy oppa. If you're a guy then you should use "hyung"

Korean actors like Lee Joon ki, Song Joong Ki, Park Bo Gum, Kang Ha Neul, (and many more) are pretty much the dream guy of every filipinas right now. From their snow white skin, pretty face, dazzling smile, and captivating eyes, no one is immune to their charm.

2.Interesting Concept

Kdramas are full of endless possibility when it comes  to concept. From vampire to mermaid, weightlifters, soldiers and even a goblin! They've got a story for it.

I think this is one of the main reason why people are into KDramas, because whenever there is a new one, you'll be served with theme that you've never seen before, and that keeps people craving for more.

3.Unexpected Twists

 These dramas are full of unexpected turns. Just when you thought you know what will happen next, director-nim will give you an episode that will prove you wrong.

You'll be shookt with all of the unpredictable twists.

4.Strong Female Leads

Most of the time the female leads are strong and independent women that can protect their own selves. I mean, they may look like they don't need saving but they still need their prince to make their hearts go "badump"

5. Romance

You may think you've seen all  the types of romantic approach to a drama, then you probably haven't watch Kdramas yet, because Romance is their specialty. May it be a cutesy high school couple, or a mermaid who fell in love with a con-artist, they will make sure to have your cheeks red.

So yeah, those are some of the reasons why I think people are going gaga over KDramas, I also think dramas from other country can be educational.Dramas from other countries can also be an instrument for better understanding of their cultures and values.
